WE ARE BECAUSE YOU ARE
Kivulini Afro Yoga project is dedicated to serving, caring for, and rebuilding the lives of individuals who have experienced trauma by providing culturally sensitive mindfulness practices and trauma-informed nature programs, with a focus on Maine's growing immigrant communities.
Our inspiration comes from the lack of representation of immigrants and people of color as teachers and students in yoga spaces and outdoor adventures.
All our classes are in-person at our 1129 Broadway South Portland yoga studio.
We have enough mats and props for FREE at the studio, but you are also welcome to bring your mat.
Our in-studio classes are by donation/pay what you can.
All BODIES with positive vibes are invited to our Studio.
We partner with community organizations and groups to provide afro yoga and mindfulness.
Classes are 45 to 60 minutes long, and they can take place in a partner facility where clients are already accessing other services or in our studio at South Portland
We provide a place for new Mainers and nature to connect via outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, swimming, and more.
Our Studio is Open:
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 pm
Saturday are Drop-in classes.
